Rebekah Brooks Resigns From News Corp. Unit

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Rebekah Brooks has resigned as CEO of New International, News Corp.'s U.K. newspaper unit, as the fallout from the company's phone hacking scandal continues. Brooks is being replaced by Tom Mockridge, who has been CEO of the company's Sky Italia operations since their launch in 2003. Friday's press release made no comment on Brooks, aside from saying she had resigned, and didn't include a quote from Rupert Murdoch, the chairman and CEO of News Corp., whose shares have fallen nearly 14% this month since news of the scandal broke. ...
