By Brandon Speck Daily Journal WEST POINT – Saltillo sophomore Summer Price walked up the West Point bleachers with a grin – and a trip to the Class 5A playoffs on her mind. After a 51-33 win against New Hope in Thursday’s consolation game of the Division 2-5A Tournament, Price was sharing the news with a friend from East Union. “We’re going to the playoffs,” Price told East Union sophomore player Cayce Smith. Saltillo advances as the three-seed and plays Monday at either Ridgeland or Canton. Second-year coach Cassie Farris isn’t sure about the team’s last winning season – or if and when the school made the playoffs in smaller classes. “It’s the first winning season (15-14), as of right now, the program has had in a long time,” Farris said.
