Stories Related to Putnam To Begin Offering Health Courses For Diabetics

By Carlee Lammers WINFIELD - Putnam County soon will offer a course for those living with diabetes in the county. Tina Ramirez, from the Division of Prevention and Wellness for Kanawha and Putnam counties, told members of the Putnam County Board of Health Tuesday that the county soon will host educational courses through the Everyone With Diabetes Counts program. The five-week courses will be open to diabetes patients, caregivers and family members of those with diabetes interested in learning about nutrition, reading food labels and using blood sugar monitors among other things. "It's really just a wide variety," Ramirez said.
