Jacksonville-based Feeding Northeast Florida was one of 12 regional food banks across the country to receive a $120,000 donation from Publix. The grocery chain donated about $1.5 million to food banks in its operating area that partner with the Feeding America national food network, according to a news release. The food banks will use the money to acquire refrigerated trucks to transport perishable items donated by food retailers. read more
