Public Works Office Avoids Sinkhole On Jefferson

A buildup of sediment in a number of pipes that fed a manhole cover on Jefferson Avenue in Harrison Township that could have caused a sinkhole was discovered during routine maintenance recently.Macomb County Public Works Office crew members discovered that the pipes, part of the Murdock-Ballard drain that runs underneath Jefferson just south of Crocker, were filled with sediment, had structural weaknesses and other issues.
