JOHNSTON, R.I. — Carpionato Group CEO Alfred Carpionato, one of Rhode Island's most well-known developers, has died at age 75, the company announced Saturday.Carpionato, who has led the family-owned real estate development company for more than six decades, "passed away peacefully," the company said in a news release. A cause of death was not given.Prominent Carpionato projects include the Chapel View shopping complex in Cranston and the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick.
