Judge Auden Grogins ordered that Butler, who has dozens of convictions on his long criminal record that began in 1974, be held on an additional $105,000 court appearance bond. Butler, whose address on his court records shows him residing at the homeless men’s shelter on Pacific Street, has been in jail since early December unable to post a $150,000 bond. When officers searched the building they found that someone had pried a lock out of a door to gain entrance and jimmied open another door and desks drawers were gone through in a search for petty valuables.
