11 a.m. update: The procession for Kristin McLain is expected to soon leave the Travis County medical examiner's office for the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway. First responders, nurses and more than a dozen of McLain's friends and family — some of whom traveled from Colorado after her death on Monday — will escort the STAR Flight nurse's body from the medical examiner's office near Interstate 35 to Ben White Boulevard to Texas 71 and then RM 620, where the funeral home is located. McLain died on Monday night after she fell from the hoist of a STAR Flight helicopter as she tried to help ferry an injured woman up to the aircraft. The death is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and the helicopter involved in the incident has been grounded, said Lisa Block, a spokeswoman for Travis County Emergency Services. Three other STAR Flight helicopters are also not being used because the county has temporarily pulled the flight crews from service in the wake of McLain's death. Earlier: Medics, nurses and police officers are among those that will escort the body of STAR Flight nurse Kristin McLain from the Travis County medical examiner's office to a funeral home in Lakeway on Wednesday morning. The procession is to start at 10:30 a.m.
