As the runner-up in District 7A-11, the Gulf Coast Sharks were not supposed to beat three-time state champion Martin County in the opening round of regional playoff action. And they did. Gulf Coast wasn’t supposed to beat rival Fort Myers in the regional semifinals. But they did.
