In a speech at the Christian nationalist group Turning Point USA, Donald Trump claimed no one has ever made ads targeting drug abuse and he will eradicate drug addiction with a big ad campaign.
It's bizarre that Trump focuses on how drugs hurt your physical appearance only. If that's the case, Trump must have done a lot of drugs.
Who could ever forget Nancy Reagan's ridiculous 'Just Say No' campaign against drug abuse?
Trump did.
President Joe Biden announced this morning that he is taking 37 people off federal death row to serve out life sentences behind bars — a decision that leaves only three federal prisoners awaiting execution when Trump takes office next month. Via CNN:
“Today, I am commuting the sentences of 37 of the 40 individuals on federal death row to life sentences without the possibility of parole,” Biden announced in a statement released Monday.
Notably, the president did not commute the sentences of three people whose crimes included mass shootings or acts of terrorism: Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, one of two brothers responsible for the deadly Boston Marathon bombing in 2013; Dylann Roof, a White nationalist who massacred nine people at a historically Black church in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2015; and Robert Bowers, who killed 11 worshippers at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life Synagogue in 2018.
“These commutations are consistent with the moratorium my Administration has imposed on federal executions, in cases other than terrorism and hate-motivated mass murder,” Biden said, referring to his Justice Department’s halt on federal executions.
Sen. John Fetterman downplayed the expected drama that El Cheato insists he will cause, telling fellow Democrats not to “freak out” before the aspiring fascist has even returned to office. Via HuffPost:
During a Sunday interview on ABC’s “This Week,” the legislator told host Jonathan Karl that he thinks many of his peers’ handwringing about Trump has been counterproductive.
“I’ve been warning people, like, ‘You got to chill out,’ you know?
The insurance industry is shaken after Luigi Mangione was charged in the shooting death of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The perp walk for Mangione was surreal-looking and likely backfired. Mangione allegedly committed murder, but he did send a message to the insurance industry: We are pissed off.
So, the rat-fucking insurance industry put its weight on the DOJ to make an example of Mangione to deter copycat killers.
