WALLA WALLA — Authorities say five white-tailed deer were poached near the W.T. Wooten Wildlife Area in southeastern Washington. The Walla Walla Union-Bulletin reports a person found the deer partially butchered at a campground in the wildlife area Tuesday and contacted state Department of Fish and Wildlife police. Authorities say the deer appeared to have been shot during the night or early morning of Monday or Tuesday. The deer were then taken to the campground in Columbia County to be butchered.
