LUZERNE — A Luzerne man was arrested on Monday after police say he broke into a veterinarian’s office and stole a laptop, I-pad and safe. According to police, they were notified by Jerry McDonald, owner of All About Animals Vet Service on Kelley Street on Monday that some time over the weekend someone had broken into his business, breaking a window. A refrigerator was also left open and about $3,000 in vaccines were ruined. McDonald provided police with surveillance footage of the incident and they were able to identify the suspect as Richard Fanti, according to a release. Police then went to Fanti’s residence and took him into custody. According to police, when Fanti viewed the surveillance tape, he said, “How could I have been so stupid?” Fanti told police that he had the I-pad and laptop computer at his residence, but did not know where the other items were.
