Bethel Police Chief Jeff Finch said Friday that in addition to the one man who died, another man had life-threatening injuries and a woman was expected to survive her gun shot wounds. On Saturday, several neighbors described the area as peaceful and many were shocked to see their quiet, dead-end street illuminated with police lights, restricted by checkpoints and littered with yellow police tape surrounding 11 Governor’s Lane Friday night. “It’s a quiet neighborhood where families don’t lock their doors,” Hunt said while cutting spare wood in his backyard, just steps from the crime scene. Property records show that the ranch-style home perched on a hilltop was owned by Cristofalo, who several neighbors described as a nice guy and longtime Bethel resident.
