From staff reports The Ventura County Law Enforcement Crisis Intervention Team will hold its first awards luncheon at noon Thursday at the Camarillo Library.The luncheon will include an award to an officer of the year. The team is a collaborative effort between the county's six local law enforcement agencies, mental health providers, social services, the medical community and the local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.The crisis intervention program emphasizes decreasing the use of force as well as injuries to law enforcement officers and those suffering from mental health issues.
