Plant Upgrades Help Silver Springs

Overhauling the Southeast 24th Street wastewater treatment and reclamation plant won’t solve all of Silver Springs’ pollution problems. But the $10.6 million project will significantly improve the quality of the 2.5 million gallons of wastewater the plant treats daily and pipes off to be used for agricultural irrigation. Much of that water does make it to the springs’ recharge areas.
