Pit Bull Event Raises Money And Awareness For Breed

Fans of pit bulls gathered Saturday in Akron to raise awareness about the breed.More than half a dozen pit bull rescue groups from three states attended the event on East Market Street.The event also featured a number of bands and a skateboard demonstration.Organizer Jason Eddy said the music culture “has a tarnish on it — just as these animals.”“This [event] is where you leave all your personal life behind you for a few hours and show that our scene and these animals can be a strong and positive force in our communities,” he said.The event served as a fundraiser for the pit bull rescue charities.
