A man carrying a pipe was shot to death Thursday by a Saguache County sheriff’s deputy near Crestone. The Saguache County deputy was driving near Crestone around noon on Thursday when he saw a 40-year-old white man walking about a mile from the entrance of the Baca Grande community, according to a news release from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
