The Philadelphia Phillies assembled the best starting rotation in a generation this offseason when they signed Cliff Lee in December to complement Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels. Despite a back injury that forced Oswalt to miss some time and bouts of ineffectiveness by Lee, the starting rotation has been dominant, and is the biggest reason the Phillies enter Friday with a 44-27 record – the best in the major leagues.
