Marvel Rivals is a competitive game no matter which mode you are playing and while you’ll need to get kills to win, assisting teammates is almost just as important.
However, with the gameplay being so fast, things aren’t as clear cut for what classes as an assist, which may be required to complete various missions.
Here, we’ll be revealing exactly how to get assists in Marvel Rivals so you can check off any associated challenges and support your team to the best of your ability.
Marvel Rivals assists: How to get
Marvel Rivals assists are a little bit more complex than that of Call of Duty, for example, which simply require you to put some damage into an enemy, and another teammate finishing them off.
Instead, due to the various abilities in the game, there are more opportunities to get an assist but there are caveats you need to be aware of.
You need to contribute meaningfully to an ally’s kill, whether that’s by enhancing their abilities, disabling enemies, or providing support that directly impacts the outcome of a fight.
For instance, you can assist your team by buffing an ally’s attacks, shielding them from damage, healing them mid-fight, or applying crowd control effects like freezes or debuffs to enemies.
Because of this, Strategist heroes are the easiest characters to use if you’re chasing assists, with Mantis and Luna Snow being top picks.
Something to note though is that for a crowd control effect to count toward an assist, the enemy must still be affected by that status when your ally lands the killing blow.
Let’s say you’re playing as Luna Snow, and you put an enemy in a frozen state.
