TALLAHASSEE — A federal grand jury in Washington, D. C., has indicted former Florida Congressman David Rivera on charges of failing to register to lobby for a sanctioned Venezuelan businessman and laundering money to conceal the work, the U. S. Department of Justice announced Wednesday.
The indictment, issued Tuesday, alleges that Rivera, a Miami Republican, violated a law known as the Foreign Agents Registration Act in 2019 and 2020 as he provided consulting and lobbying services in the U.

When Sarah Levitin first visited her now-husband’s Catholic family for Christmas, she was not expecting to see a menorah in their home.
It was 2016, and the first night of Hanukkah fell on Christmas Eve. Levitin, who grew up attending Jewish day school and traveled to Israel on a Birthright trip, had not planned to light Hanukkah candles when she joined her boyfriend’s Sicilian and Polish family for Christmas.

Trump’s sudden entrance into the debate and new demands sent Congress spiraling as lawmakers are trying to wrap up work and head home for the holidays.
New UCF coach Scott Frost has retained defensive tackles coach Kenny Martin.
Martin spent the past four seasons with the Knights program after being hired by former coach Gus Malzahn in 2021.
