Paterson Officials May Cut City Property Taxes For First Time In Recent Years

The city’s tax levy would drop by almost 3.5 percent under the preliminary 2017 budget, which was unveiled by administration officials at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting. Total city spending would drop from $276.5 million in 2016 to $274.9 million in 2017, a reduction of less than one percent.
