FERNANDINA BEACH | A passionate group of citizens concern about preserving wildlife and green space applauded as the City Commission Tuesday rejected a proposed referendum that would have allowed it to consider selling off untouched land on its public golf course and a second parcel. The City Commission voted 3-2 to nix the idea, with Mayor Sarah Pelican and Commissioners Arlene Filkoff and Pat Gass in the majority. read more
