STAMFORD-Police conducted a crackdown over the weekend at Cummings Park, issuing 38 tickets for drinking, marijuana possession, vehicle infractions and a man peeing in public. According to a release announcing the crackdown from Stamford police, the move was made in response to a number of complaints made over the past two months about loud music, excessive drinking, public drunkenness, urinating in public, drug use and people driving recklessly through the park. As a result of such behavior, some seniors and families with children said they did not want to use the park as often. The crackdown began Sunday afternoon and the all the tickets were written within a six-hour period.
