The air conditioning system at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale was malfunctioning Saturday, officials said, forcing first responders to transport patients elsewhere. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to the hospital at 1600 South Andrews Ave to assist, according to Battalion Chief Garrett Pingol. He did not say whether patients were being evacuated, but did say that that Fire Rescue is “not currently transporting to their facilities.” It is unclear what the issue with the HVAC system is or what caused it.
