Panel: Release Inmate Convicted Of Killing San Diego Officer

(AP) — Parole officials are recommending the release of a man convicted of gunning down a San Diego police officer 37 years ago as a teenage gang member. The parole panel at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation decided Friday that Jesus Salvadore Cecena is suitable for release from Valley State Prison.
