The election for Palm Beach County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller is decidedly not high-profile, but the agency’s two core responsibilities, safeguarding public records and public money, give it an outside influence. The incumbent, Joseph Abruzzo, has a record on both that warrants a second term. Abruzzo, 44, was elected clerk in 2020 after more than a decade in the Florida Legislature, where he served in the House and Senate. The clerk’s office invests taxpayer money and has chalked up robust earnings under Abruzzo.
