One of the smaller communities in Potter and Randall counties, the village of Palisades, will celebrate a national award today. The National Fire Protection Association has named Palisades a Firewise Community, according to a news release from the Texas A&M Forest Service. “We’re the second in the Panhandle,” said Mayor Dale Conner, who is also a volunteer firefighter in the village.
