A Port Arthur Police officer named in an affidavit that led to an internal investigation this past spring has sued the department, alleging that he was forced to resign and accusing the chief of defamation. In a petition filed in Jefferson County on Friday, Kristopher Boneau called the affidavit that accused five officers of wrongdoing "retaliatory and egregious and slanderous" and said Chief Patrick Melvin failed to investigate the allegations before putting him on leave.
