The special town meeting in Orrington to vote on a proposed public safety building will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 at the Center Drive School. The meeting was initially scheduled for 7 p.m. that day. The schedule change was needed “to meet facility commitments at the school gym,” Interim Town Manager Scott Fish said Friday in an email. Residents will decide whether to spend up to $3.5 million on a proposal that would combine the fire station and police office into one building on Tupper Drive. If voters approve the proposal, a committee would be appointed to present options and estimated costs to the board.
