One Track Reopens After Belle Plaine Derailment

BELLE PLAINE — One track at the scene of a train derailment Friday is back open.Mark Davis with Union Pacific Railroad says the track was opened at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, about 35 hours after 23 of a 125-car train heading from Nebraska to Illinois derailed late Friday night.Davis said five of the derailed cars were empty and the rest contained a variety of products, including soda ash.
