TORONTO – Sometimes it takes a breakout performance to open a window into an unknown aspect of a player. Sometimes all it takes is a haircut.
On that latter count, Tyler Herro arguably stands as Exhibit A.
Having played most of his Heat career with a considerable tuft of hair as his preferred look, it turns out the sixth-year Miami Heat guard was hiding a window into his past.
Now it is noticeable, that scar on the left side of his buzzcut that has left an empty line above his ear.
And, no, not a style point, not something cut into his coif by the style-conscious scorer.
“I cracked my head open when I was little,” Herro revealed.
So during a fight with his brothers?
Fighting through a screen during his formative basketball years?
Something particularly badass?
“It was playing football in my house,” Herro said.
Taevion Swint, the dynamic Kissimmee Osceola senior running back who committed to UCF in April of last year, said Saturday he remains committed to the Knights despite news that head coach Gus Malzahn had stepped down.
“I don’t have any thoughts. It’s still the same mindset,” Swint said, reached shortly after the news had surfaced that Malzahn had decided to take on the offensive coordinator position at Florida State and reuniting him with FSU coach Mike Norvell.
Malzahn and Norvell were assistants on the same staff under Todd Graham at Tulsa in 2007.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are great opportunities for consumers to pick up a powerful laptop at a good price. This is partially because manufacturers and retailers know it’s a good time to offload their slightly older models in preparation for continued new releases. For most buyers, that’s not a problem — the average computer user will not notice many or any differences between last year’s model and this year’s refresh.
As the dust settles on coach Gus Malzahn’s departure from UCF, the football program finds itself at a crossroads.
The Knights will begin a coaching search for Malzahn’s replacement in earnest, particularly with a busy December schedule that features the early National Signing Day on Wednesday and the opening of the transfer portal window on Dec.
Dear Eric: I have an issue with a neighbor who is “wilding” her yard, letting all the plants grow as they will, and, unfortunately, they are invading my yard.

A nasty vine called porcelain berry has grown up into one of my trees, and strangled four limbs, so far, and pulled them down.
I have seen rats in her yard, so I have four traps re-baited quarterly.
Every time I try to take back my section of the yard, she runs out of her house and screams at me.
