Olympic Boxing Hopeful Charged With Domestic Violence

STAMFORD-A Stamford boxer aspiring to go to the Olympics has been arrested and charged with making his former girlfriend’s life a living nightmare with abuse, threats and psychological terror, police say. After obtaining a warrant for his arrest Tuesday, police charged 19-year-old Nick Scaturchio with violating a judge’s protective order, second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, risk of injury to a child, robbery, larceny and threatening. According to Scaturchio’s eight-page arrest affidavit, the charges stem from the allegations of his recently estranged 15-year-old girlfriend. According to the arrest affidavit, police spoke to Scaturchio’s ex-girlfriend on June 5 who told them he had violated a judge’s restraining order that had been issued against Scaturchio only a few days earlier.
