The vote ends a three-month analysis of competing downtown sites and authorizes the city manager to begin buying property. The city could have control of the six square blocks planned for the convention center in six to nine months, said Cathy O'Connor, executive director of the Urban Renewal Authority and president and chief executive officer of the Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City.
