By Brandy McDonnellRodeo Cinema, Oklahoma City’s new nonprofit independent art house movie theater, will open its doors Friday with showings of Marc Turtletaub’s well-reviewed new drama “Puzzle” and Sky Bergman’s acclaimed documentary “Lives Well Lived.”Rodeo Cinema is located in the historic Centennial Rodeo Opry Theater, 2221 Exchange Ave., in Stockyards City.The sister theater to Tulsa’s Circle Cinema, Rodeo Cinema will offer first-run independent, foreign and documentary films, guest speakers, film events and specialty programming under the direction of Rodeo Cinema Executive Director Kim Haywood, the former director of programming and education of deadCenter Film.Renovations to the 1924 theater began earlier this year, and a grand opening is planned for fall, Haywood said.Starting Friday, Rodeo Cinema will show films every day from about noon to 8 p.m., except for Saturday nights, when the Rodeo Opry performs from 7 to 9 p.m.Read more on NewsOK.com
