A tribute to some of the noteworthy people who died in 2024.

Crack the spine of your 2025 planner and start filling in some dates, because we’ve rounded up all the biggest new and returning shows of next year. 2024 has seen the death of plenty of TV shows, some by design—like Larry David’s long-running Curb Your Enthusiasm, the vampire comedy What We Do in the Shadows, and the most unlikely spin-off hit of all time, Young Sheldon.

As much as the photographs captured by TIME this year are a snapshot of 2024, they are also a look into what’s to come. By documenting history through their own lenses, TIME photographers sought out the unique and highlighted what is not always seen. TIME photographers sat front row to this year’s biggest events—from the Paris Olympics to the U.

It's heartbreaking to think of a child with cancer. As part of their treatment, children with cancer often receive chemotherapy and radiation. In other words, it's pure hell. And then, if they are lucky enough to be 'cured,' there are consequences for chemo and radiation—so many after-effects. But if you're a "pro-life" Republican, fuck those kids. You’re probably very familiar by now with the most common respiratory illnesses that can cause winter misery: cold, flu, COVID-19, and RSV. But the U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that cases of another illness are also on the rise. Walking pneumonia has been steadily infecting more people since last spring, says the agency, with younger children accounting for the most cases.

With Republicans failure to pass a spending bill after Elon Musk and Donald Trump destroyed the bipartisan deal from the government Thursday, the Demented One is now claiming it's Biden's problem because he's president. Oh, and the MAGATs will help President Biden pass it if they can? Suuure, we believe you. Trump destroys things and then blames others for the problems he causes.
