Denver’s defense achieved a significant milestone, and defensive coordinator Vance Joseph wanted to make sure his players understood it. Sportico, citing anonymous sources because the details are private, reported that the Denver group had submitted its first payment to the league on Tuesday.

Although the Rockies have not officially announced the hire, the club confirmed Thursday that Oberg will be a minor-league pitching coordinator.
