A team of scientists exploring the Gulf of Mexico's sea floor recently uncovered a maritime artifact that's nearly 200 years old. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration researchers aboard the ship Okeanos Explorer discovered a ship's chronometer on April 17 while exploring the seafloor 200 miles off Galveston, Texas. Scientists at sea and at shore were using underwater cameras to comb the remains of a shipwreck from the 1800s.
