In a hopeful sign in the city’s fight against the coronavirus, the hard hit Department of Education did not record a single new COVID-19 death for the first time in six weeks, officials said Monday. The agency has provided weekly updates on DOE COVID-19 fatalities reported by relatives and friends of victims.
