A crowd protesting an Albany County grand jury's decision not to charge police officers in the death of Donald "Dontay" Ivy chanted "Let Us In!" at Albany police headquarters Friday as leaders sought to deliver a list of demands including the firing of officers involved and the resignation of the district attorney. Protesters lied down, blocking traffic for 13 minutes, the time they say it took for police to stop the 39-year-old man as he walked home from a convenience store April 2 until he died in police custody. Earlier in the day, representatives of 26 African-American religious groups in the region called on state leaders to review if "justice was denied" in the grand jury's decision.
