As a critic, it's difficult to judge family films since so often the things we criticize simply don't matter to the film's intended audience. Younger children aren't necessarily looking for logic issues in a film where the Lincoln Memorial stands up and gives a monologue, and parents probably aren't scrutinizing the staging of the action or the quality of the performances so long as their children are laughing joyfully next to them in the theater.
