For the cutscene screenshot I understand that the lighting/relatively low graphics setting could play a part but I don't want to have to use ultra high graphics just for my characters to look good, especially considering the toll it takes on my trashy computer.

Outside of the system chosen, it still falls down more to which system works best for you and your game style than which is best for the era. I've been running an Old Republic game on Roll20 using WEG's Star Wars d6 ReUP**.
