But all their parents and recent ancestors are Black. People of color of all different backgrounds can experience this. The reason we have the distinction is because people have social privilege based on proximity to whiteness.

However, for those of us who are African TAST diaspora, we usually are mixed/admixed whether we “look” it or not.
