They suggested going with Great Lakes for the windshield since it typically requires less work than LP Aero to trim to fit, but Great Lakes doesn't yet offer UV protection in clear, so LP Aero it is.

Or if your APIA is adventurous you can modify the plexiglass to maybe meet your needs if you want something larger. I adapted a helicopter sliding window to a Cessna window but dont remember what specific model as a minor alteration.

Lake effect snow is a totally different phenomenon, and it's tough to compete with the lee of the lakes in terms of snowfall frequency and totals. I only brought it up in response to another post about streamers off Lake Erie reaching CT.

They went from little snow to massive amounts of snow. Their facebook posts have four feet of snow with power outages. As I get older, the cold bothers my joints more. The wind/snow off the Great Lakes is would be impossible to take.
