Bookmark or Share- Ethernet Speed at 100 Mbps instead of Gig - DellOn my relatively new Inspiron 5570, I can't figure out how to get the Ethernet speed above 100 Mbps. 1- Internet service of 1 gig. 2- Cable is new and carries speed of over 800MBps on other laptops. 3- WiFi on the Inspiron (from the same source) is in excess of 300 MBps. 4- The same cable connected via USB adapter is hitting 800 MBps.
- Intel(R) Ethernet Controller I225-V capped at 100MbpsTurned out the auto negotiation for some reason was getting set to 100Mbps. On the ethernet adapter right click -> properties -> configure -> advanced -> speed / duplex ---- changed from Auto to 1.0Gbps (that was the router port speed so didn't need 2.5) Verified speed is now 900mbps to Comcast. 1 Kudo. - Killer Networking E2200 connection speed capped at 100mbpsHi, I have updated my drivers to the latest ones from the Intel Website. But I still can't get my wired connection to go above 100mbps. My current internet connection from my service provider is 500mbps. The Killer Wireless-N 1202 is able to connect and give me 300mbps download as that is the max throughput for the Killer Wireless-N card.

Double-click your Ethernet adapter and see whether that shows 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps. I'm betting it's the latter if you're already getting 150 Mbps on your browser, and in that case, your bottleneck would be elsewhere.
