White House Counsel Bob Bauer is stepping down from his West Wing post, the Obama administration announced Thursday.

The executive editor of The New York Times is stepping down after eight years on the job. The Times announced Thursday that Bill Keller is leaving the post to return to writing. He will be replaced by Jill Abramson, formerly one of his top deputies.

James Murdoch has moved one step closer to the top spot at News Corp., the media giant run by his father, Rupert Murdoch. Early Wednesday morning, News Corp. named James Murdoch deputy chief operating officer of the company and chairman and chief executive of its international operations.
