Rapper Slim Dunkin Shot Dead at Music Studio

U.S. rapper Slim Dunkin was Friday shot and killed at an Atlanta music studio, WSB-TV reported, citing both police and the performer's attorney. Atlanta Police Department spokesman Maj. Keith Meadows said Dunkin, whose real name was Mario Hamilton, was shot and killed outside a music studio in the 1000 block of Memorial Drive on Friday night. He was at the studio to shoot a music video.

 

'Most wanted' fugitive spotted on school field trip

The Seattle School District is investigating how a fugitive from the law ended up on a school field trip Wednesday afternoon. A fellow parent recognized the man, Donald Vasser, from the TV show "Washington's Most Wanted," and police were called in.

Brazil: 50 tons of corn stolen from moving train

Police in Brazil's southeastern Sao Paulo state are investigating the theft of 50 metric tons (55 U.S. tons) of corn from a moving train. A police report says the thieves greased the train tracks, making the wheels of the 54-wagon locomotive skid and slow down before they used a tow truck with a hook to remove the corn-filled containers.

The man who authorities say killed a Virginia Tech police officer had visited a shooting range this year but hadn't gone for several months because he didn't have bullets for his gun, according to a friend. Matt Dailey told The Roanoke Times in a story published Sunday that he considered 22-year-old Ross Truett Ashley his best friend. Authorities say Ashley killed police officer Deriek Crouse on the Virginia Tech campus while the officer made a traffic stop Thursday, then killed himself not long after.
