A skydiver in New Zealand suffered serious injuries Thursday when he plunged toward the ground after his main parachute failed, forcing him to turn to his reserve parachute, which only partially worked, police said.

3 Dead, Including Gunman, in Shooting Near Texas A&M

A gunman opened fire on police officers near the Texas A&M University campus shortly after noon on Monday, killing at least two people, including a local constable, and wounding four others, the police said. The gunman, who was shot by officers, died after he was taken into custody.

 

Doctor arrested after 11-year-old daughter accuses him of waterboarding her

A Delaware doctor and his wife were arrested this week after their daughter told authorities that she was punished by "waterboarding," police said. The 11-year-old girl told police that her father, pediatrician Melvin Morse, would hold her face under a running faucet causing the water to shoot up her nose, the Delaware State Police said. The punishments happened at least four times over a two-year period and the girl's mother, Pauline Morse, witnessed some of them and did nothing, police said.

 

Randy Travis arrested naked, charged with DWI

Randy Travis was charged with driving while intoxicated and threatening law officers after the country singer crashed his car and was found naked and combative at the scene, officials said.
