MWB Repost: There's "No Escape" for Owen Wilson in Tense Thriller

No Escape

Here's my latest review of Owen Wilson thriller "No Escape" for MoviesWithButter.com:

The last thriller from Owen Wilson that I could remember is “Behind Enemy Lines,” an action thriller from 2001 that I liked. Compared to that, “No Escape” is just as tense, but more dramatic because of the family element.

Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson hit catwalk for 'Zoolander 2'

Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson hit catwalk for 'Zoolander 2'

PARIS (AP) — To deafening cheers, Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller stormed the Valentino catwalk during Paris Fashion Week Tuesday in a headline-grabbing stunt to announce the decision to make 'Zoolander 2.

Senh: Ben Stiller's mining his past hits to try to regain his box office standing. Grossing $45M in 2001, "Zoolander" wasn't exactly a huge hit. It's often quoted, but I'm curious to see if its cult status will eventually translate into box office gold.

Box Office Report: 'Footloose' Eyes Weekend Win With $16 to $17 Million

Box Office Report: 'Footloose' Eyes Weekend Win With $16 to $17 Million

Paramount’s remake tops Friday with $5.6 million; horror prequel “The Thing” off to so-so start with $3.2 mil, while the Steve Martin-Jack Black-Owen Wilson comedy “The Big Year” only grosses $1.2 mil.

Senh: I'm surprised the "Footloose" remake is doing so well. If anything, I thought the "Conan the Barbarian" remake would do better. The Big Year is a big bomb. With Steve Martin, Jack Black, and Owen Wilson, it only managed a measely $1.2M. "The Thing" ages pretty well, so I really don't see a need for a remake - even with today's better special effects. The practical effects work held up pretty well. "Real Steel," being a family film, might still be able to climb to the number #1 slot because it'll have a significant boost on Saturday.

Critics Consensus: Footloose is Toe-Tapping Fun

Critics Consensus: Footloose is Toe-Tapping Fun

This week at the movies, we've got Sunday shoes removal (Footloose, starring Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough), an Antarctic abomination (The Thing, starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton), and a bird watching competition (The Big Year, starring Jack Black and Owen Wilson). What do the critics have to say? Did the world really need a new Footloose? Apparently yes, say critics, who find this update of the 1984 musical smash an energetic, toe-tapping good time.

Owen Wilson Wants Lady Gaga To Strut Her Stuff In 'Zoolander 2'

"Zoolander," Ben Stiller's cinematic parody of/love letter to the modeling and fashion worlds, has been screaming for a sequel since day one of its release back in 2001. Nine years later, Stiller's Derek Zoolander and Owen Wilson's Hansel are finally getting ready to make love to the camera once again in "Zoolander 2."

Critics Consensus: Get Him to the Greek Is Certified Fresh

Critics Consensus: Get Him to the Greek Is Certified Fresh

This week at the movies, we've got rock 'n' roll ribaldry (Get Him to the Greek, starring Russell Brand and Jonah Hill); DNA disturbances (Splice, starring Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley); a canine caper (Marmaduke, starring Owen Wilson and William H. Macy); and espionage entanglements (Killers, starring Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher). What do the critics have to say? It might seem like fun to hang with your favorite rock star -- unless you actually have to do it. The critics say Get Him to the Greek takes this inspired premise and wrings plenty of terrific gags from it, making...
