The Oscar-winning filmmaker re-teams with Tim Miller, visual effects lead from "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo." Video games these days are big Hollywood productions. A team of more than 200 people at Microsoft’s 343 Industries studio has been developing Halo 4 over the past four years. The new game, which launches Nov. 6, is being complemented by a full transmedia entertainment plan.

We’ve yet to even see the machines that will most likely play this game, but Lucasarts has just given us the first public gameplay trailer from its upcoming mature-themed Star Wars 1313. It’s doing a pretty good job justifying the likelihood of next-gen hardware, because this trailer is looking very, very good.

The first Mass Effect game is an RPG by BioWare about Commander Shepherd’s journey to become a Spectre agent while fighting such enemies as the Geth, the Reavers, and other Spectre agents. It was so playable and fun that it spawned sequels, books, and comic books. Now the franchise has a new entry: an upcoming anime movie, Mass Effect: Paragon Lost. I have the trailer for you, below.
