(By Ely Portillo, elyportillo@charlotteobserver.com) A federal judge on Friday threw out a Charlotte real estate lawyer's 2009 conviction in a mortgage fraud case, citing a legal precedent stemming from the Enron meltdown.Victoria Sprouse, 40, had been found guilty of 18 counts of bank fraud, money laundering and conspiracy charges. She faced a sentence of up to 25 years for the crimes.
